31.08.2019 Long Night of Museums

The site of the New Synagogue, opened in 1866, is a museum and meeting point for all Berliners, Jewish and non-Jewish alike. Tonight everything revolves around letters because according to Jewish mystical ideas, the world was created with the help of the Hebrew alphabet. Discover word-worlds with a Soferet (a female scribe) and through a reading-night about the multiple connections between Berlin and Jerusalem (related to our temporary exhibition) in collaboration with the Jewish publishing house and Habait, Berlin Initiative for Israeli culture. And last but not least, enjoy the beats of rap music!
