During the second half of the 19th century, music by Sulzer and Lewandowski reached many cantors in Eastern Europe and as a result, Eastern-European Jewish culture opened up more and more to the West. The Fifth Louis Lewandowski Festival will feature music by some of the most prominent Chor Shul composers.
